As we love a new challenge, Chad was thrilled to find a used incubator and thought we should attempt to hatch pheasant eggs (in addition to 24 chicken eggs). Only 3 chicks hatched. Angus, our rooster, needs to step things up!
The pheasants, however, keep coming. To date, I think we are near a dozen. MK has adopted them and insists they stay in her room.
We learned that they can fly within two weeks and when old enough to free range, most will move to the woods.
We thought you should see a few pictures before they depart. The latter shows the green pheasant eggs in several stages of development, and the former shows an earlier pic of our pheasant chicks.
